L&L Cacao is a Spanish language school located just outside of the town of Alajuela about 7 miles South of the town of Grecia, in the foothills of Poas Volcano. A sugar plantation is in front of the school, and behind is a beautiful view of coffee plantations. We chose the location to give students an opportunity to study and immerse themselves in a typical Costa Rican village. Our location outside of the Americanized cities gives the students an authentic Costa Rica experience. Cacao is very safe, friendly and hospitable. Our Cacao school offers a great price for a one week week or one month Spanish course. For $195/week students receive 20 hrs of Spanish instruction (our teachers are members of the community), a typical Costa Rican homestay with 3 meals a day and laundry once a week. With our homestays you can use the conversational skills you have learned. Our selected families will welcome you into their homes. Here you will enjoy their hospitality, typical Costa Rican meals and definitely make new friends. This school is an economic boost to Cacao, helping supplement the income of the homestay families.
